Brian Phillip Rosenthal (born July 7, 1989) is an American actor, singer, writer, producer, director and performer based in Los Angeles. He is best known for his work with the American musical theatre company Team Starkid of which he was a founding member as well as his work as one of the three Tin Can Brothers.

Early Life and Education[]

Brian was born on July 7, 1989 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Michigan between the years of 2007 and 2011 graduating with a BFA in acting.

Work[]

Outside of StarKid and TCB, Brian worked as sound designer and co-producer for The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at Stage 773 in Chicago in 2013.

He has also featured in a range of short films including featuring as Mr. Richman in Impact: The Musical (What If) (2019), The Stranger in Neil (2018), Rex Punchwhistle in American Whoopee (2018), Baby in Sit (2018) and Ray Bolger in The Case of the Gilded Lily (2017) by Shipwrecked Comedy.

Tin Can Brothers[]

Alongside fellow StarKid members Joey Richter and Corey Lubowich, Brian created the multimedia production company Tin Can Brothers. Their works span many mediums including theatre, films, web series' and more.

The Tin Can Brothers works include five live stage shows: Spies Are Forever, The Solve It Squad! Returns, We Didn't Plan To Kill Our Guest, This Could Be On Broadway! and How the Grunch Cribbed Christmas and three web series: Wayward Guide For The Untrained Eye, Choose Our Destiny and The Solve It Squad! Back in Biz. They have also created two short films: Idle Worship and Flop Stoppers as well as numerous other projects including the Brooklyn Nine-Nine experience at San Diego Comic-Con 2019.

StarKid Productions[]

Rosenthal met the members of what is now StarKid while collaborating on plays through Basement Arts, the university's student-run theatre organization. In 2009, he was part of A Very Potter Musical (then known as Harry Potter the Musical) which sold out its four performances at UMich featuring as Quirinus Quirrell. A recorded version of the show that was posted on YouTube for family members to watch went viral and StarKid Productions was created. Rosenthal then went on to feature in both of the A Very Potter Musical sequels: A Very Potter Sequel and A Very Potter Senior Year as well as featuring as Young Scrooge in both A VHS Christmas Carol and VHS Christmas Carol Live!. He also acted as sound designer for The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals.
