Plot
Edit
A Very Potter Musical takes place in Harry Potter's (Darren Criss) second year of Hogwarts. The story opens with him singing about missing school and he decided he must return to Hogwarts. Magically, Ron Weasley (Joey Richter), Harry's best friend, appears and the friends head off to Diagon Alley. There Harry meets up with his other best friend, Hermione Granger (Bonnie Gruesen). The trio then runs into Ron's stupid, dumb little sister Ginny (Jaime Lyn Beatty), Cho Chang (Devin Lytle), Lavender Brown (Sango Tajima), and Pansy Parkinson (Lily Marks), along with Draco Malfoy (Lauren Lopez), and Malfoy's friends, Crabbe (Julia Albain) and Goyle (Jim Povolo). The students then board the train, arrive at school, and meet the headmaster, Albus Dumbledore (Dylan Saunders). Dumbledore introduces Professor Snape (Joe Moses), the dreaded potions master, and Professor Quirrel (Brian Rosenthal), the new Defense Agaist the Dark Arts professor. Professor Quirrel tells the students about the House Cup Tournament, which will take place at school that year, despite Hermione Granger's interjections against it as it was discontinued due to fatalities. Snape chooses a champion for each house, Cho Chang from Ravenclaw, Cedric Diggory (Tyler Brunsman) from Hufflepuff, Draco Malfoy from Slytherin, and Harry Potter from Gryffindor. As Professor Quirrel leaves the hall, Harry's scar begins to hurt and the back of Quirrel's turban begins to sneeze. The students and teachers all exit the hall, except for Harry, Ron, and Hermione.
Harry begins to discuss the Tournament with his friends before finding out who the four champions are. The champion for Hufflepuff is Cedric Diggory, for Ravenclaw Cho Chang, for Slytherin it is Draco Malfoy and Harry is the Gryffindor champion. They compete in the first task, which are dragons, the first three champions verse ridicously easy opponents, Harry manages to defeat the Hungarian Horntail by serenading it to sleep. They are in the Yule Ball, when Cedric and Harry argue over who shall get punch for Cho, the punch only being liked by Harry, and the ladle is a portkey to the graveyard of Little Hangleton. Harry and Cedric fight over the ladle and both are taken to the graveyard, where Cedric is killed by Quirrel and Harry is forced to watch as Voldemort is resurrected, with the help of Snape. Voldemort and Quirrel lead in a musical number with the Death Eaters singing, before Harry manages to escape once again. Quirrel is framed for Cedric's murder and is sent to Azkaban, with the wizarding world not believing that Voldemort has returned.
Act two begins with Harry having to begin the fight against Voldemort, and Dumbledore tells him there is six horcruxes, but apart from one they have all being destroyed, saving Harry alot of time. They find a Zefron poster which Harry and Ron fall in love with, and Draco joins Voldemort and sneaks Death Eaters into Hogwarts. Draco corners Dumbledore and Harry watches as Snape kills Dumbledore as Voldemort attacks the ministry, killing Fudge, who denies Voldemort is there even after Voldemort's killing curse hits him. The Death Eaters take control of Hogwarts and the Ministry and Harry must hide within Hogwarts, with his friends to resist and find the last Horcrux. They discover the Zefron poster is the last Horcrux as the Battle of Hogwarts begins, and Ron destroys it, after nearly killing Harry in anger. Bellatrix Lestrange captures them, but is killed by Molly Weasley, who reveals the entire Order of the Phoenix is dead. Harry goes to meet Voldemort after Snape dies, and is killed.
The other students are having the one hour respite, with Draco complaning that they should join Voldemort as he is tired. They start to sing in retaliation to Voldemort and Harry joins them, inspiring them further. They go to meet Voldemort, who is suprised Harry has survived, and Harry kills him in a final fight. They all leave Hogwarts at the end of their second year, and we go to Azkaban, where it is discovered the day after that Voldemort is dead and Quirrel is released by the Dementors.
Quirrel sings a lament, saying how he misses Voldemort when the ghost of Voldemort appears. He is in love with Quirrel apparently, who feels the same for him. The play ends with Voldemort and Quirrel singing 'As Different As Can Be' once more.
